Classic architecture and the connection with American period furniture design

My interest in classic architecture has grown over the past several years as I have explored the connections between American period furniture and the design language that period artisans drew from. I belong to the Society of American Period Furniture Makers (SAPFM) and was recently called upon to prepare a series of lectures at a regional meeting on classical architecture as it relates to furniture. Do you know of anything published that explores the connection between furniture design and classic architecture in any depth? Also, do you know of any good sources where I can download images that are part of the public domain? I'd like to put together a workbook for these lectures with illustrations of the orders as well as other classical ornaments that may be found on period furniture. GW

You can try Classical Taste

You can try Classical Taste in America 1800-1840 by Wendy A. Cooper, published by Abbeville Press in conjunction with the Baltimore Museum of Art in 1994.  ISBN is 1558595449.  Lots of furniture, architecture, objets d'art, painting, sculpture, etc.

Good luck!
