22 West 24th Street in New York City, designed by Stanford White, collapsed last Saturday night causing no injuries, as the building was unoccupied at the time. Of note is that the building housed White's apartment, where he had his infamous affair with 16-year-old former showgirl Evelyn Nesbit, whose husband ultimately shot and killed Stanny on the roof of his Madison Square Garden. Featuring mirror-lined walls and a red velvet swing, the affair and love shack was made into the 1955 movie, the Girl in the Red Velvet Swing.
